Sine bars leverage fundamental trigonometry to set highly accurate angles on surface plates.
Formula
Height = Sine Bar Length × sin(Angle)
Accuracy degrades significantly beyond 45 degrees. Sine bars should generally not be used for angles greater than 45° due to the magnification of minor gage block errors.
